ALONE, YET WHOLE
Being on your own is not an empty space in your life. It can be a life in its own right — whole, and yours.
Being alone does not mean something is missing
It is easy to think of living alone as an in-between stage. The time before the next relationship, the next person, or the moment when life is finally supposed to look complete.
But your life is not a waiting room.
It is here. In the mornings when you make coffee just for yourself. In the days whose direction you can choose. In the quiet that sometimes feels comforting, and sometimes a little too vast.
You can be happy on your own. You can be at peace. You can build a life that needs no one else’s permission.
And you are still allowed to long for someone
Being whole does not mean you cannot miss another person. You may long for conversation, touch, shared mornings, another pair of shoes in the hallway, or someone asking in the evening how your day went.
Longing does not mean you have failed at being alone. It does not make you half a person.
You can be whole and still hope that one day someone will walk beside you. There is room for both in the same heart.
Your life does not begin later
You do not have to save a good day, a trip, a dinner, a beautiful home or a small dream for the day someone else comes into your life.
Make your life your own now. Go somewhere you have wanted to visit. Set the table for yourself. Call the person on your mind. Learn something new. Rest without explaining why.
If someone comes to walk beside you one day, they will meet a person who already has a life of their own.
You are not waiting for life to begin. You are already living it.
