I long for connection

Sometimes we do not need more people around us. We long for one person whose company lets us be fully ourselves.

Connection can mean many things

It is not always a romantic relationship you long for. Sometimes it is a friend who understands. A conversation that stays with you. A touch that brings calm. A community where you can be yourself.

Or simply one person you could tell: “Today was not a very good day.” Without having to explain every little thing.

Perhaps you long for a deeper connection with someone you already love. Perhaps for a group where you feel you belong. Or perhaps you want to reconnect with yourself.

Longing does not make you incomplete

We need other people, even when we know how to be on our own. Longing for connection does not mean you are not whole. It tells you that something within you wants to be seen, heard or truly met.

Sometimes connection grows from a long friendship. Sometimes from an unexpected conversation. Sometimes from daring, for the first time in a long while, to say something real.

Pause for a moment and ask yourself: What kind of connection do I need right now? And perhaps the harder question: Can I let someone come close?

Connection starts small

It does not have to begin with a grand confession, or with finding the right person straight away. It can begin with a message. A glance. A question whose answer you stay to hear.

And sometimes it begins when you let yourself be seen a little more than yesterday.

Perhaps connection does not begin with finding the right person.

Perhaps it begins with allowing yourself to be seen.
